"SHUBHDA"

is a runing a school and Vocational training centre to rehabilitation for The  Special children.

1. CENTRE FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION

a) The Academic Group which follows the programme of National institute of Open schooling.

b) The Functional Education Programme for money and time management, basic literacy. environment awareness, skill training.

c) Special groups for severely challanged individuals to train them in self care, social interaction, communication and self reliance.

d) A Full-time physlotherapist to access the physical profile, implement exercise for balance and gait training, selection of mobility aids, refer for assistive devices and surgery.

e) The speech and language trainer. apart from stimulating and developing language also works on the feeding programme and pre-speech activities.

All Streams have music, art, sports and other curricular activiies. Physiotherapy, speech and language training are an integral part of the programme.

2. VOCATIONAL TRAINING

Students above the age of 14 Yeas, are trained in various skills such as stitching. Cooking, embroidery and hand made paper products etc.

This helps the trainee to develop skills such as work oriented production, learning to take responsibility, being punctual and regular, meeting production targets, and developing socially approved behaviors etc. This makes it easier for them to fit in to any work place.

3. INCLUSION IN COMMUNITY

Through links with mainstream schools and colleges, interac tions such as games, sports, music and arts etc, are organized between the disabled and the able-bodied. Students are also prepared for integration into mainstream schools. Continued support is provided to students who are already integrated in such schools.

4. ADVOCACY AND AWARENESS

Burning issues, especially concerning the rights of the dis abled are addressed through advocacy programms aimed at various groups such as professional, policy makers, student parents and other stake holders, Awareness is spread through word of mouth, campaigns, media, meeting and through par ticipation in seminars and conferences.

5. STRENGTHENING OTHER SERVICES

The team working at SHUBHDA regularly engages in building capacities of the staff, parents and professionals through various programmes.
